ICOS - Second Anniversary Service

This past Sunday our church celebrated it's second anniversary. Our thoughts on the day as we were preparing for this time was that we would have about 120 people in total in comparison to last years celebration. So with those plans in mind, we were greatly surprised when more than 150 showed up for the service. Many of the people that had come to our first anniversary service were members or members from other congregations but this anniversary service was so much different as our members invited their friends and families, only about 10-15 people were from the other congregations. It was great to meet so many new people and connect to them through their friends or families that are members at our church. It was also great to see that many of our English students came as well and really enjoyed meeting our church family. I expect to see many of these people come back again and again. We had 18 kids during our children's time and they loved being important and having their own time during service to learn more about God. After service we had a special lunch for our visitors. As we had only prepared for 120 people and about 165 or more came for lunch we unfortunately ran out of food for lunch. It worked out as our members that were serving lunch and others who had let the visitor go first were the ones without. Luckily we had some pizzas in the freezer and stopped across the street for burgers to help feed the rest of the crew. No one complained and we still had a great time. We watched a video of the past years pictures, our youth sang a special song for the occasion and we had an open mike session where people could tell of their favorite memories or just special thoughts of the day. We topped it all off with a huge cake that fed everyone with many leftovers. Thank you for all who were praying for our special day. Praise God for His provision and His work in the lives of the people that came to celebrate this day. Please be in prayer for us as we work to keep in touch and share more of God's love to these visitors.
