We have had a lot of success with people being interested in learning to speak English better. We have about 60 readers in all and more keep signing up everyday. However, it has been hard for some of them to come all the times that they have said, so at times the team has been sitting around waiting for readers to show up. The parties have been very successful. The first party we had about 40 people altogether and the last party we had a few more. The church group here have been very excited for these parties and have come to help and participate. They enjoy it even though it is in English and they do not know the language. They have been great at getting to know the readers and invite them to church on sunday's or to other activities. This week is Candace's party, her theme is caveman and we know that the readers and church members are going to love this party as much as the card party and english party. We have had so many people interested in learning English that Alicia Krogsgaard has started a beginner's class for people who know little English or none at all. Her first class had 30 people and this sunday we expect more. Our church members are all excited to learn a little bit of English as well. Travis and I have been helping with this beginner class and Travis plans along with Val to continue teaching a basic English course to interested people. We have been seeing a lot of readers start to realize that these English classes are more than that and are realizing how God is working in their lives. I believe one of Kresten's readers told him the other day that he started coming for the English but now he is coming to understand more of the book of Luke and what God is doing in his life and the world. We know that God is working on the readers and through the LST team and we have been blessed having them here to help us gain more contacts. We have also been blessed having the Canadian group here with us, to be able to talk about home with them and to catch up on news back home. It is good to have some more familiar faces around and to get to know them better. We are sad that Candace has to go back so soon. We have enjoyed her energy and fire for the work here. She has done a great job with her readers and has made life here a lot more fun, we will miss her when she leaves. We have been blessed having the team here and the work that is being done. Please continue to pray for the team and their work and for our team after the LST team leaves that we can continue the work that they have started.
