Federal Police

There is one thing in this city that we are really learning to dread having to do. That is to go to the federal police. This trek is necessary because they are the ones that control our fate of weather we can live in this country or not. However, they know that they have this kind of power so they make it a challenge to do everything that they say to be able to stay here. Last week our team went to renew our missionary visas, each year they give a one-year visa and we found out that each year we have to reapply from scratch. This is frustrating to find out know because last year when we had all the documents legalized and sent to Toronto, we never received those documents back. This time we had to try and get all those documents from here in Brazil, What fun! Here’s the deal, the doors open at nine in the morning, you go into the building and get your number for when you are next in line. Then they start serving people at ten. Inevitably you will wait three or four hours before you are able to talk to anyone. So you have to take lots of reading material with you. When we finally got up there, we got (THE LADY) with the reputation of being the least gracious and unfortunately it seemed like that even though we had followed every direction available to us to a Tee, it seemed it was not what she was willing to accept. So it is back to the paper work for everyone on our team. Although she assured us that we will be able to stay here for another year. Please pray for our team that we can get everything that they want so that next year we will have no problems when we apply for our permanent residency.
