Church Building

Church Building

This week was an important part of our time here in Brazil as we looked for a few months for a building in which we will hold our public worship services. Well today all the work paid off as we received the keys to our new building. It is a spacious building with lots of area to grow into. It has a large room in which we will hold our worship services and the good thing about this room is that there are no supporting beams to get in the way of anyone’s eye sight. Many of the buildings that we had looked at or buildings we know of all have support beams in any of the large rooms. Luckily we were able to find the one without, within our price range and a good location, just half a block from two major streets and half a block from the ocean. Our own built in baptistery, haha. Another major plus with this building is that it will not need to have a major renovation. Just a few coats of paint, a good scrubbing, and closing in the front room as of right now the front is just a sheet of plywood. Another good thing about our building is the washrooms. They are ready to go and there is more than one stall in each the men’s and women’s room which is a definite bonus. Many other churches or buildings we had looked at, either only had one bathroom or had rooms that could be made into bathrooms with a lot of work to make it one. However, even though we have the keys to our building there is not much we can do right now as our team is soon heading to the Missionary Conference. Looks like the building will have to wait a few more weeks.
